Why there's no cookie banner
The law in the UK (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) and in the European Union requires consent for cookies and similar storage unless they are strictly necessary for a service you've asked for. Everything we use is either strictly necessary or stores a setting you've chosen yourself, so we don't need to ask. If that ever changes, we'll ask for your consent first and update this page.
Videos in news posts
Some news posts include videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Until you press Play video, nothing is loaded from those sites and no cookies are set. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo's "do not track" setting.
When you press play, the video loads from YouTube or Vimeo, which may set cookies or store information on your device under their own policies. Pressing play is your choice; you can use the "Watch on YouTube" or "Watch on Vimeo" link instead.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary ones, our forms may not work.
Links to other websites
We link to other organisations' websites. They have their own cookie and privacy policies, which we don't control.
For more about how we handle your data, see our privacy policy.
